This class will cover key concepts and practical application, including: what technical analysis is, what tools a technical analyst uses, and how to incorporate technical analysis into your decision-making process. Homework will be assigned after each session to help you apply your growing knowledge.
Each class will build on the prior week's class, so please plan on registering for and attending all 4 weeks.
The live application of technical analysis will take place on Fidelity's Active Trader Pro® platform. If you do not currently use Active Trader Pro, please be sure to download the program.
In the first week, we will cover the basics: what technical analysis is, and key terms and concepts you will need to know to perform technical analysis (e.g., identifying trends and changes in trends).
During this interactive session, you will be able to ask questions and we will show you the online tools to help you apply your knowledge.
Technical analysis focuses on market action — specifically, volume and price. Technical analysis is only one approach to analyzing stocks. When considering which stocks to buy or sell, you should use the approach that you're most comfortable with. As with all your investments, you must make your own determination as to whether an investment in any particular security or securities is right for you based on your investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial situation. The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, which is also referred to as a CFP certification, is offered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (“CFP Board”).
